Who should not receive shockwave therapy?

Treatment may not be appropriate over or near:
- An active tumour or suspected cancer
- An active infection or open wound
- A current blood clot or significant clotting disorder
- Certain nerves, blood vessels, lungs or other sensitive structures
- Areas with severely impaired sensation or circulation
- The abdomen or pelvis during pregnancy
Please tell your provider if you are pregnant, take anticoagulants or other medications affecting bleeding, recently received an injection in the area, have a pacemaker or implanted device, or have any significant medical condition. Do not stop prescribed medication unless instructed by the prescribing professional.
