I am passionate about creating a safe and supportive space where you can show up exactly as
you are, welcoming all your emotions, thoughts, and experiences with compassion and
curiosity.
I want to honour the courage it takes for you to reach out for support. As a lifelong client of
therapy committed to my own healing journey, I know how transformative therapy is and how
powerful a supportive therapeutic relationship is. I have a special interest and passion for
supporting youth and young adult women navigating anxiety and ADHD. It was during my first
year in practice that I learned of my own ADHD, which has ignited my passion and has
encouraged me to shift my focus toward supporting this population. I firmly believe that each
individual is worthy of a safe space to strengthen their relationship with themselves and to
discover their unique strengths, and I am committed to creating that space with you.
My practice is heavily rooted in Emotionally Focused Individual Therapy (EFIT), Acceptance and
Commitment Therapy (ACT), as well as nervous system-based approaches that integrate the
mind and body, including Somatic Parts Work, Polyvagal theory and Brainspotting. Click here
to find out more about the approaches that I use. Regardless of therapeutic modality, my
approach is trauma-informed, neurodivergent-affirming, client-centered, and holistic. We will
take into consideration the balance of all aspects of your life to incorporate your whole Self into
sessions.
When I am not in session, you can find me on a hike with my dog Petey, enjoying a cup of
coffee, practicing yoga/pilates, lifting weights, and spending quality time with my husband,
friends and family.

My name is Robert Coons, I am a Registered Acupuncturist (R.Ac) under the College of
Traditional Chinese Medicine Practitioners and Acupuncturists of Ontario and a graduate of the
Acupuncture Program at the Ontario College of Traditional Chinese Medicine (OCTCM) in
Markham.
After I graduated from College I spent two years working under Professor Wu Binjiang PhD, the
President of OCTCM in his clinic and helping him translate Chinese Medicine textbooks from
Mandarin to English. During that time I learned many valuable principles and techniques from
this master instructor which I am happy to bring to my role at Aberfoyle Chiropractic and
Wellness.
I offer a full range of Chinese Medicine manual therapies including:
Traditional Chinese Medicine Acupuncture is a proven system with thousands of years of
clinical experience and research to help practitioners understand illness and how best to treat
it.
Although Acupuncture can be used for many reasons, my primary focus is on helping my
patients recover from chronic health issues by treating the immediate problem and also using
specialized diagnostic techniques to find the root causes of health issues so they can be better
addressed.
To me Acupuncture is much more than needles, it is a holistic health system that treats every
part of a patient’s life.
I look forward to sharing this unique and effective understanding of health with you and your
family when you visit our clinic.
Optimal health is amongst the most valuable possessions. Although we are confident that we can partner with patients to help relieve pain and get them feeling better, we believe ultimately the greatest medicine of all is in educating patients about the fundamentals of health. While the prevailing model of care focuses on being reactive to symptoms, our desire is to see our patients take a more proactive approach to prevent dysfunction and disease. The chiropractic journey isn’t just about the condition of your spine or joints, but also your holistic wellness.
“Each person is different and Health is Complex”
Chiropractic doctors are primary care professionals that use evidence-based, non-invasive therapy. They specialize in the treatment and optimization of the neuromusculoskeletal system. Contrary to popular belief, chiropractors are not just spine specialists but have extensive training with all the joints in the body. Chiropractic healthcare is a drug-free natural approach, and in fact is a leading alternative care options for the opioid crisis.
Massage Therapist integrate muscles, connective tissues, fascia, joint structures and other soft
tissue within their treatment with the goal of improving the symptoms associated with them.
Massage therapy is one of the most common treatments for both acute and chronic conditions and
has proven to have a variety of benefits. Our therapists are trained in and use a variety of techniques
such as Deep Tissue, Relaxation/Stress Relief, Craniosacral, Cupping, Manual Lymphatic Drainage,
Trigger Point Therapy. We are trained to treat all populations including infant/children, pregnancy,
disability, illness, and injury rehabilitation.
Massage Therapists are primary healthcare providers in Ontario and so anyone may visit a therapist
of their choice without a referral/prescription. Our Therapists are all Registered Massage Therapists
in good standing and regulated with the College Of Massage Therapists.
